
Ingredients :
- One chicken
- 3 large onions
- 8 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbs fresh chopped ginger
- 2 tbs ground coriander
- 2 tbs ground cumin
- 1/2 tbs red chilli powder
- 1/2 tbs turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 tomato
- 1 tbs salt
- 1 cup of yogurt
- 1 cup of oil
- 3 cups of water
- fresh green coriander
Recipee :
- Wash the chicken pieces, drain and set aside.
- Finely chop the onions in a food processor and keep aside. Now place garlic and ginger in the food processor and blend to a paste.
- Put tomatoes in the food processor and blend well.
- Heat oil in a large pressure cooker.
- When hot add chopped onions and carefully fry to a golden brown, stirring occasionally, now add the ginger and garlic paste and stir for a few minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and salt stir well and fry on high heat for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Now add a cup of plain yogurt and fry on medium heat about 5 minutes, add all the spices and the tomato mixture, and fry on medium heat until the oil separate from the gravy, about 5 minutes.
- Add water, bring to boil, stir and cook for 10- 12 minutes under pressure.
- Remove from heat, lower pressure by running cold water over cooker.
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle fresh green coriander on it.
- Serve with rice or Nan.
